1 yr ago- had a pap came back ascus and negative hpv.. doctor said 1 year follow up . im scared 1 year was too long and now i will have cervicle cancer when i go back next month. please help im having anxiety to go for my annual? ?

The recommendations for PAP smears developed long before the relationship to some strains of HPV and cervical cancer were known. HPV high risk accounts for 97% or more of cervical cancer. You are negative for any strains. If you were + for high-risk strains they would test more often with ASCUS, without, a year is fine. The safety of this comes from decades of screening millions of women.
