i think i have cervical cancer because my mom died of it, i have had 2 abnormal paps in the past 2 years and i have all the symptoms but tested negative for hpv. the earliest the doc can do a colcoscopy in march 26th. will it spread before then?

My pap smear came bback abnormal. It was positive for hpv. I also had a colposcopy done and my doctor said there were a lot of abnormalties, what could be my results? Is there a good chance I have cervical cancer?

It should be ok: Cervical cancer is not genetic and therefore just because your mother had it does not put you at increased risk for it. I am so sorry about your mother. An abnormal pap with a negative HPV has a very low risk for developing into cancer. In addition it takes years for low or even high grade pre cancerous lesions to turn into cancer. Waiting will be ok.

Possibly: Flu can include: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, extreme fatigue, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea. If progresses and worsens, respiratory distress and worse. Colds can have the same but usually not extreme fatigue, muscle aches and chills.

Possibly pneumonia: I have found that when people have a deep cough associated with pain on taking a deep breath they often times have pneumonia. You should be evaluated by a physician. If this has been a long-term problem then you definitely need to be evaluated as there are other causes.

Hard to say: Any adult has likely had bronchitis several times as a kid & may as an adult. They are often viral, a minor affliction & self heal in a week or two. The lungs heal and life goes on. The level of concern you should have should match the degree of interference this process has with your daily activities. Minor, can be ignored; significant may require a doc visit.

We have many different medications for severe nasal allergies so see your doctor to know what treatment would be right for you. When you lie down the pressure in the veins of your nasal passages is higher and the congestion is usually worse. That is normal.

No: Treating a UTI should not cause vaginal bleeding. Sometimes a UTI can cause some blood in your urine but it is usually not heavy. It is possible the symptoms felt like a UTI but were from some other cause.

Possiby: Some women do have abnormal menses during an infection. However, if you are still bleeding, you should follow up with your md to make sure something else is not going on.
