Hello, : Hello, although it has been recommended that you get at least 4 servings of fruits and 5 servings of vegetables per day; newer literature suggests that women would benefit from 9 to 12 servings per day and men would benefit from 12 to 15 servings per day. The following is a list of vegetables that our bodies spend a fair amount of the calories ingested to break down: aubergine, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chicory, cress, cucumber, fennel, gourd, leek, lettuce, marrow, peppers, radish, spinach, tomato &turnip. Fruits which have a similar affect include: apricot, blackberry blackcurrant, clementines, damsons, grapefruit, guava, honeydew melon, lemon, mandarin orange, melon cantaloupe, peaches, plums, raspberry, rhubarb, strawberry, tangerine & watermelon. Many people eat lots of fruit and avoid vegetables. Fruit usually has a larger amount of natural sugar than vegetables. So, it is really important to eat vegetables. Good luck with your path to health.

Fat is Good!: This is the myth that low fat foods will help you lose weight. The foods to avoid in fact are those high in carbs. Eat foods which have a low glycemic index, preferably less than 40.Foods with these qualities that fill you up are typically vegetables .Some vegetables however, like potato , are not healthy as the glycemic index is higher.
