A clean kitchen knife does not pose as much of a threat as something metal, rusty and dirty. But, It would be good for you to use the motivation that you now have to get the tetanus vaccine ASAP. Call around, as they can be available not only at local Dr's offices, but at pharmacies too. Incubation period for tetanus can be 3 to 21 days.

Ideally the booster should be administered within 48 hours of the injury. Your injury from a clean knife is low risk for tetanus. In high risk wounds & an out of date tetanus protection status, tetanus immunoglobulin can be given along with a Td booster.

If you really catch the bacteria, disease is still in the incubation period which varies a lot in duration so a tetanus toxoid injection is still effective. In general, chance of catching tetanus with kitchen accident is extremely rare. Good luck!
