Infection?: If it hurts but there's no swelling, redness, or pus draining from the incision, then you just need to wait it out. Elevating the hand will help. But if you see signs of infection, you should see a doctor.

Hard to say: The digits are supplied with a higher number of nerve endings per square inch than most of the body.After this kind of injury the nerve endings will let you know they are not happy by causing pain.It may pesist with pain and hypersensitivity for weeks if not longer.After the wound is visably healed in 5-6 weeks, the site may still have odd hypersensitity to touch.
