Bleeding from the nose occurs when a small blood vessel is so close to the surface that it accidentally gets broken. This can happen during nose picking, blowing the nose or just in dry or cold weather. Avoid putting anything in your nose, use a thin layer of vaseline or other protectant ointment if the air is dry and check your medications/supplements for ones that can cause less clotting.

Aspirin has been extensively studied. It is shown to cause irritation in the intestines and colon of most people. In persons with UC, it can cause a flare up. Talk to your Gastroenterologist to discuss alternatives.
