As we age GFR decreases however before this assumption please recheck your fluid intake it should be at least 8 glasses of 10 to 12 0z each, every day and if it is not increase the fluid intake and recheck after a month or so. Secondly check your medications and get complete physical examination from your physician and discuss this with him.

GFR at 55 cc/min does not affect serum bilirubin level of 1.5. Yes, bilirubin can be high with fasting blood sample in Gilbert's syndrome but other liver or blood problem should be ruled out first. By GFR you are at stage 3 CKD (GFR 31-60 cc/min.). Advice is difficult without medical history. In general, keep BP less than 130/80 at all cost and limit animal protein products, especially red meats.
