Can blood on or in stool, from a fissure or hemorrhoid, cause a false positive on the fecal immunochemical test?

Blood in stool.: Immunochemical stool test is not 100% specific. It can have false positive. However, if your test is positive, the next thing to do is colonoscopy to make sure there is no colon cancer.
