Gums that bleed: Gingivitis is the beginning stages, and by definition, your gums are inflamed, and you might see them bleed when you brush and floss. If this is left untreated, then the infection moves deeper into the jaw, and it progresses to the more severe, periodontal disease.

Gum problems: Do you only sometimes brush your teeth? You may either have debris under the gums that necessitates a dental cleaning or you may just not be brushing well and effectively to clean the area where your gums meet your teeth. See your dentist for a regular cleaning and get the best answer there.

Gingivitis: Occasionally, gum may be inflamed due to local area of food impaction. This will cause occasional bleeding during brushing. It should not be permanent or chronic problem as bleeding tends to occur in the same area every time you brush. This means there may be an underlying cause. Diagnose and treat it with your dentist.
