Be kind to yourself: Brushing with that much force can cause tissue loss around your teeth. Do not do this. Gentle circular brushing, holding your tooth brush with just the tips of your fingers will prevent you from putting so much pressure while brushing. Make sure you are doing this softly. See you dentist and their team can help you with this. Be kind to yourself!

The question is...?: Are your gums bleeding because you are too energetic and rough on them causing them to bleed or....Are they bleeding due to periodontal (gum) disease? See your dentist to determine the health of your gums and teeth and have him\her demonstrate how to use a soft toothbrush and dental floss to help and not hurt you. Sometimes too much of a good thing is actually bad!

Are you nuts?: Are you in your right mind? What other body part would you scrub until it bleeds? Wait, i forgot , the mouth isn't part if the human body! most plaque accumulates between your teeth, an area only accessible to floss. And you must do it daily! brushing long, hard, in circles or long strokes, causes bleeding, strips off the gum, destroys supporting bone and exposes the tooth roots. Lovely!
