It depends on your previous PSA level and if you have history of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) or not. The incremental change of PSA level is more important than the absolute number and people with BPH have relatively high PSA. A rectal exam by your family doctor is indicated if you have not had rectal exam for a long time.
