Keflex brand is usually (always?) a capsule. For generic cephalexin, there is no significant difference between tablets and capsules in effectiveness or side effects. Pharmacies usually inform patients of such a change if a generic version is substituted for a brand name, but there may be no legal requirement to do so in your state. If you still have doubts or concerns, ask the pharmacy.

There should be no significant difference as far as effectiveness, follow recommendations on the vial for use. The pharmacist is usually available to clarify.
