What is the difference between keflex & duricef? i was given cipro (ciprofloxacin) for uti & had reaction & now given keflex. never took it before, but i've taken duricef & was fine. are duricef & keflex similar?

Similar meds: They are both first generation cephalosporin class of antibiotics and have similar antibacterial spectrum and chemical make-ups. It should work in simple uti. If you took Duricef (cefadroxil) before without allergic reactions, you should take Keflex now safely.

Yes keflex and : Duricef (cefadroxil) both are cepahlosporins so are similar but i assume they did a urine culture to make sure the bacteria is sensitive to the antibiotics.

Both cephalosporins: Both of the drugs that you have taken are cephalosporins . They have a bit of different coverage , but if not allergic to one, should tolerate the other. Vito is a quinolone and an completely different group.
