You should ask your dentist or family doctor for a different antibiotic in the meantime and continue with Ibuprofen. What is the antibiotic you have been taking and what is the dose of Ibuprofen? I know how tough the tooth ache is.

I'm going to suggest you get an emergency appointment sooner than later. Obviously the infection is not being controlled with the antibiotic you are taking. You're not going to last a week in the condition you are in, so call the office and press for an earlier appointment.

GO TO AN URGENT CARE DENTAL WALK IN OR A HOSPITAL DENTAL CLINIC NOW. YOU MAY NEED A ROOT CANAL OR AN EXTRACTION AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT NOW IF IN SO MUCH PAIN.

Yes, you need immediate attention. If your Dentist can't see you sooner than next week, ask for referral to Endodontist. Do not take Ibuprofen more often than per package instructions, but you can bolster effectiveness by adding ONE Advil to the ibuprofen. Additionally, takes 2-3 days for antibiotic to take hold. You Dentist may want to prescribe a different antibiotic.
