Yes, you can give: her Advil or Motrin or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain. If she has strep, the antibiotic will take about 24 hours to work, so she will benefit from the pain medication meanwhile. Once the antibiotic starts to work, she shouldn't need the Advil. If she has a viral infection, the antibiotic will not help; then you may need the Advil for longer. Be sure she's drinking plenty of fluids also.
