According to the Parodontax website, the .454% stannous fluoride formulation is better in reducing plaque (bacterial) accumulation, thus reducing the acids and toxins that cause the inflammation in the first place. Give it a try and see the results... it can't hurt.

There are about ten ingredients in most toothpastes that are chosen because they help you. They are only effective if you brush properly, thoroughly, disturbing the plaque colony so that saliva can neutralize the bacterial acids which they excrete that irritates the gums and disolves the enamel and dentine. You have gum disease (bleeding is a sign), so change what you have done, and get better!
