Generally, yes.: Daily calorie amounts are suggestions for average intake. If you are very active one day & not trying to loose weight, you will need more energy. Days you are less active you may eat less. It is ok to overindulge occasionally but just don't make a regular habit of it, especially if you are trying to loose weight. You might want to eat a lighter dinner when that happens like a salad.
