Best to wait, but...: There are some tray and bleaching technologies that will allow whitening of the teeth while in braces (even under the metal bracket), but it seems a waste of money, as by waiting and choosing the best method after braces are removed, seems to be the most worthy remedy.

Yes: Although there has been reports of success with bleaching during braces. Bleaching can best be accomplished after orthodontics - it's quite common. Perhaps, talking with your orthodontist about best bleaching options would be a good place to start.
