I : I think you meant to say that you were getting the braces off soon? If so, have a good cleaning and polishing of your teeth. You would be surprised how much superficial stain comes off. Then, if you are still not happy you can have them whitened. In the end the color should be uniform.

May be: Depend how much damages happened to your enamel, and also how much enamel will be removed during the de-bracketing (removing of your brackets). Have your dentist evaluate your case after ward, may be teeth whitening resolve the issue or some kind of cosmetic veneer restoration.

Bleach first: Once the brackets are bonded on bleach won't penetrate under them. Also, consider getting a sonicare toothbrush to help you keep your teeth and gums healthy while you have your braces.
