Deep breaths: Diaphragmatic breathing is key to relaxation. Watch how a child's belly rises and falls as they sleep. That's what you need to get your body to do. As for imagery, imagine a pleasant and relaxing setting like a quiet beach. Look at the scene as if you were viewing it through your eyes instead of watching yourself there. Think about what you would feel, taste, smell, and hear. A therapist can help.
