I heard that corneal nerves that are severed after lasik never fully recover, does this mean i will have dry eye forever?

Usually improves: Some symptoms of dry eye after lasik or other refractive procedures are common. However, the duration of symptoms is variable and depends on multiple factors. For most, between the first month to few months after the procedure, the baseline will be re-established. Generally, things go back to your "normal" within or before the first 6 months. Meet with your ophthalmologist for more specifics.

Lasik dryeyes: Frquently the dry eye is aggravated or made symptomatic by not blinking properly prior to the surgery and may be aggravated by extended near or computer work. Having this evaluated and learning how to blink better can fequently alleviate some of the signs and symptoms.

Dry eye: Dry eye is normal for the frat few months after lasik but resolves in almost all patients as they heal. Permanent dry eye after lasik is very rare and can be treated effectively.
