Not Bad.: Botox stops contraction of muscles. It is injected directly into the belly of the muscle that is being paralyzed. In doing so, it reduces the wrinkling of the skin overlying the muscle as it contracts.

It is safe: Botulinum toxin works on the muscles. It does not do anything directly to the skin. By preventing the muscles from scrunching your skin, it minimizes wrinkles. Repeated movements of certain facial muscles can cause creases to become etched into the skin. Regular use of Botox prevents permanent etching. There is no known long term danger to the skin.

Botox is beneficial: Botox and disport work by preventing the contraction of muscles which leads to wrinkles. When used regularly, it can help promote long term improvements in your appearance. When given by a properly trained and experienced injector, the risk of problems is very low and patient satisfaction is very high.

Good for Skin: One of the best reasons to consider using Botox is to protect your skin from the wear and tear of chronic repetitive muscle contractions. Lines break down in the skin at the point where your skin folds & pleats due to muscle contraction. Clinically I have seen patients literally "age in reverse" simply by using botox, b/c the skin has a chance to heal and repair when not under repeated stress.

Botox is very safe: Botox has been used for cosmetic uses for approximately two decades with a very good safety record. The skin's health is not affected negatively by Botox and some patients even see a smoother texture.

No harm to skin: Botox should cause no short- or long-term skin damage. On the contrary, the prevention of wrinkles when Botox treatments are provided can result in very smooth, youthful looking skin.

Its not: Botox is great for the prevention of lines and softening of deep lines that exist. You don't have to look frozen with botox. The goal is to just look well rested.

Botox is not bad: Some facial lines and creases are due to repeated pull on the skin by certain facial muscles. Botox is injected directly into these muscles and temporarily "freezes" them preventing the wear and tear they are causing on the skin. So, Botox actually slows aging in those particular areas and is beneficial. The price to be paid is a slight reduction in certain facial expressions.

No Effect: There should be no effect on the skin other than the improvement in the wrinkles. It can also be used in people who sweat a lot so there might be some dryness in those areas but i've never had that as a complaint.
