Common, need PT: Shoulder pain can be common after dystonia injections and pt normally should be done to strengthen supporting muscles that have not been used because of the tightness. I would ask my doc for a pt script to see if they can give you some relief. The side that is causing shoulder pain verse the side your chin was pulled before is an important point to tell your pt as well.

Many possibilities: It could be that there are other muscles involved in your cervical dystonia that need attention. Also could be that you actually have a shoulder issue that needs addressing. Lastly, nerve that exit out of your neck go to your shoulder first before entering into arm, so you could have a neck problem as well. Talk with your doctor to see what your options are for evaluation or see a specialist.

See below: Sore muscles after Botox is not uncommon as you have weakened some of the muscles and others are having to work a little harder to compensate.
