Lingual : Lingual braces tend to be more expensive because of the greater difficulty placing them. Routine appointments also take longer adding to the cost point. Not all orthdontists are trained to provide this treatment and some additional special equipment is required.

Orthodontic : Orthodontic care can be completed in different ways, and each way involves a different amount of skill, laboratory fees, and time. All those factors determine the cost of care. Consult with the orthodontist who will be treating you to determine the difference in fees for the different types of treatment. You may be pleasantly surprised that there is not as much of a difference in fee as you might think.

Lingual : Lingual braces tend to be more expensive because of the greater difficulty placing them. Invisalign is less intensive and will require less visits in most cases. With lingual braces you will be seen more often for the adjustments. Invisalign are removable where braces are fixed to your teeth. You need to decide what you think would work best for you both financially and intraorally.

Would not recommend: Lingual braces. They have their issues-- can cut your tongue, often impact speech, difficult to treat. We tried these for a while and decided not to treat using them. If you need an invisable solution, would strongly recommend you consider invisalign instead. Or better yet, consider clear brackets.

Lingual is awesome!: It seems many doctors don’t have the training to treat with lingual braces and are discouraging you from doing so. I am the president of the American Lingual Orthodontics Association and I can tell you that there are orthodontists all over the world that can treat you effectively and comfortably with lingual braces. Because of the additional training and lab costs, you should expect a higher fee.

Lingual braces: Lingual braces are pen nominal for treating some types of malocclusions. Regular braces have a broader range of effectiveness, can treat a wider variety of malocclusions. Lingual braces often take longer and are usually more expensive. See a fully qualified Orthodontic specialist for an Initial Examination (usually free), discussion of your problem set, and available treatment modalities.
