Extracting : Extracting your tooth should be the last option. If the tooth can be restored and have a good long term prognosis a root canal is the treatment of choice. The bacteria and irritants will be cleaned out and the abcess should resolve. A cap or crown is then usually placed.

Don't pull tooth!: Pulling a tooth may affect the function and cost more to replace it. Abscess tooth can be root canal and build up and a crown to fix the occlusion that may cause the abscess. If treated early, the treatment is less expensive and the bone loss is usually reversible.
