Sore extraction: It is not uncommon to have a slight sore throat or pain when swallowing after surgery. As the muscles near the extraction site might get swollen, therefore trying to swallow can then be painful and sore. It should get better in a few days.nonprescription throat lozenges and pain relievers can help with this.

Common: It is not uncommon to feel a sore thoat after removal of wisdom teeth especially if the surgery was more extensive.
