Hard to diagnose : It's is hard to diagnose a problem without seeing it first hand. However, i've seen fractures in a front teeth that became visible only because it was stained. In those cases the fracture is superficial and doesn't require treatment. If patient didn't like the sppearance of it, a porcelain veneer is usually recommended. If the crack is more extensive, involving the root, extraction may be needed.
