Remember to take all of the antibiotic prescribed, until it is all gone, even if you feel the problem has been resolved. There should not be any antibiotic tabs left.

Up to a 2-3 weeks: The a gum abscess, it can take some time to resolve, even up to a 2-3 weeks. Follow up with your dentist or an oral surgeon as advised. Complete the prescribed course of antibiotics, even when you start feeling better.
