It : It is true that the more work that you do during surgery the higher the risk of complications. In most cases the risks are still very low, however. It is very common to combine septoplasty and rhinoplasty. If you want to change the outside of your nose it makes the most sense to do this at the same time as septoplasty since septal cartilage is often used during rhinoplasty.

Whenever : Whenever you do more procedures your risks go up. The truth is, very few patients require septoplasty. There are more different causes of poor breathing through the nose. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

No...: In fact, not doing a septoplasty with a rhinoplasty causes more problems. When a rhino is done the bones are fractured and the nose is narrowed. Suddenly, a deviated septum that was not symptomatic becomes a problem.

Common combo. : A septoplasty is indicated when your septum is deviated in order to create a better nasal airway. In the course of doing a rhinoplasty, a septoplasty may be performed to straighten a deviation or to harvest the septal cartilage as a graft source for the rhinoplasty. In either case you should be made aware of the complications associated with it as part of the consent process.

Rhinoplasty: septoplasty is performed in the context of rhinoplasty very often. Every procedure has risks and benefits. Having a rhinoplasty without a septoplasty when a septoplasty is warranted is not in your best interest. Discuss these issues with your surgeon and be sure your surgeon is a board certified facial plastic surgeon with expertise in these procedures.

No: There are no increased risks with rhinoplasty and septoplasty together. In fact your chance of success is higher if both are done together and the surgeon thinks you need both.
