Not sure.: Many things are not cured. We have found many ways to manage them. There are lots of good treatments for most TMJ and millions of people are enjoying the benefits. You must have a particularly vexing case.

They have: You need to find a TMJ specialist. He will do a careful analysis and once he has diagnosed the cause or causes of your problems, he will suggest treatment. Treatment may include adjustment of your occlusion(bite), wearing a splint, manipulation therapy, orthodontics and possibly surgery.

Second opinions: Technology of helping tmj/tmd sufferers is advancing and getting better. Recommended physical therapy and exercises have changed over the years. The number of mouthpieces have increased. Research continues daily. Just like any other types of medicine/dentistry, there is no one answer. If you don't get results, keep trying and get more than one opinion.
