Doxycycline: Doxycycline is probably the most widely and commonly prescribed antibiotic for acne, not necessarily for the oily skin, but to decrease underlying bacteria that may cause blocked/infected pores and acne formation. Doxycycline has a high affinity for the sin, and is therefore widely used for acne. It can cause "photo-sensitivity" so it best to avoid the sun exposure when on this med. Best wishes.
