A member asked:

7 mo sprain wrist that is still very painful. i am afraid that it is more then just a sprain. xrays and mris are normal but still swelling. what be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Temdon: I would suspect it could be tendon swelling. Ask your physician if the MRI shows any swelling in the tendon if this is in the wrist joint itself sometimes an arthrogram might help clarify if there are any retinacular tears. You also might want to see a hand specialist. We sometimes see a condition called reflex dystrophy. You might ask your physician to have you see rheumatologist to see if this is S3PE
