May be a cyst: A common wrist lump is a ganglion cyst. It is a soft, fluid filled cyst that can occur near the wrist and can get bigger and smaller with time. If you are having issues, you should talk with your doctor. They can either be drained or you can have surgical resection if the cyst is causing problems.

X-rays show bone: They can't diagnose a lump only shadow, an ultrasound or MRI are better tests to evaluate soft tissue masses or lumps.
