Very common: A dental abscess can cause toothache, gum swelling and other general health symptoms: fever, dizziness and feeling generally unwell, just to name a few. The good news is you are under dental care and will feel better soon.

Possibly: Abscessed (severely infected) teeth can cause your symptoms. Can also be caused by Meds (antibiotics, pain killers, etc). There are only 2 ways to "cure" the infection, root canal treatment or extraction. Glad you finally got to your Dentist. Follow her instructions to the letter. Don't procrastinate. Time will not heal the infection, only allow it to spread to other organ systems.
