Call dentist: You do need treatment. Your md would be able to prescribe an antibiotic if you have obvious signs of an infection but would not be able to treat you. Even if your dentist is closed , there should be an emergency number you can call. Call the emergency number.

Tooth pain: You would be better off finding another dentist who can see you on an emergency basis today. You can always resume treatment with you own dentist. Often a dentist can refer you to a covering dentist if necessary. A physician can't diagnose dental problems and treat them. He\she can only prescribe pain medication and antibiotics.

See a dentist ASAP: If you have a toothache, you may have an infected cavity with nerve damage. A tooth pain won't go away without dental treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. You can use NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. See a dentist ASAP for assessment and definitive treatment.
