What else can i use to treat eye inflammation? don't want to use steroid coz it can increase eye pressure n cause cataracts. safe to use 2-3 weeks?

Nonsteroidal drops: You are correct that prolonged topical steroid use may increase eye pressure and cause cataract formation; however, steroids are safe when used under an ophthalmologists supervision for an appropriate period of time. Alternatively consider use of a topical nonsteroidal drop such as bromfenac or ketorolac or diclofenac for intraocular inflammation. These are not associated with a pressure rise.

Define inflammation: You are correct about steroid drop side effects. Eye inflammation can mean a lot of things, however. If you were diagnosed with iritis (uveitis) then steroid drops are strongly recommended and actually prevent development of glaucoma (increased eye pressure). For other superficial types of eye inflammation (conjunctivitis), steroids should not be used, but antibiotic or antihistamine drops maybe
