My mom had cataract surgery one year ago. she has had ongoing chronic inflammation in that eye. has been treated with steroid drops which resolves, but returns each time she is tapered off the drop. your thoughts?

The eye would need to be examined in order to be able to diagnose what the problem is. It would be important to know exactly what part of the eye is inflamed and the best doctor to evaluate this would be the doctor who performed the cataract surgery. You could also get a second opinion from a different eye doctor. Good luck!

see an ophthalmologist for an evaluation it could be due to a low grade infection after the cataract surgery. or it could be due to chafing of the lens on the iris called UGH syndrome. If no to both she needs a work up for iritis.,
