Had cataract surgery this past monday, been taking lotemax eye drops and notice the expiration date is 7/20, this month, i assume they are still effective to use the drops and are steroid eye drops safe long term?

Good for now: As of today 7/3/20 the cited date makes their potency assured for the next 28 days. I suspect you will be done with topical steroids at that point unless the eye doc decides to extend their use. The use by date is more a guaranteed of potency than anything else. Steroid drops are used for a defined post operative period rather than months. Clarify the issue with your doc if you remain concerned.
