Starvation: Starvation dieting is the most dangerous and ineffective way to lose weight. Early and rapid weight loss is normal but then the metabolism shuts off and most people stop losing weight, get depressed and return to eating normally. Except normally leads to weight gains more than was initially lost. True and effective weight loss uses the right foods and amounts of food to turn on metabolism.

NO!!!!!: If you consume less than the number of calories that you need (usually 1800-2200 cal/day for the average person), your body will go into "starvation" mode and you will not burn the calories efficiently. Also, with less than 1000-1200 cal/day, you will start burning fat, but inefficiently. You should reduce your calories and exercise (even walking) to increase metabolism.
