Pelvic US: I would follow the instructions. Transvesicle pelvic ultrasound uses the distended bladder as an acoustic "window" to look at the pelvic structures. If the bladder is not full, they may have difficulty visualizing the anatomy they need to see, and they will tell you to drink more fluids and come back so the bladder will be full.
