Varies: It varies in general based upon the intensity of the workout itself.  But in general, the reason cardio workouts have that name is because of their cardiac conditioning benefit.  A resistance program can have a cardio benefit as well.  One way to evaluate your particular workout is to follow your heart rate with a moniter.

There : There are many causes of back pain.  You probably pulled a muscle or aggravated/injured disk or joint in the back.   Most cases of back pain improve over one month.  You may benefit from few days of rest, anti-inflammatories (please contact primary care for assessment and prescription) follow by physical therapy.  If you do not improve you should see spine specialist to further investigate and treat your back pain.  Good luck!

VerticalJump: These are a few common exercises that help with increasing your vertical jump.  Basically any exercise that strengthens your quads, hamstrings and calves will assist in vertical jump.  Abs also help with maintains core balance.

I do not advice it: Plyometric exercises use explosive, fast-acting movements to develop muscular power and to improve overall speed. In other words, it's exercise that allows muscles to exert maximum force in the shortest amount of time possible.

Plyometrics: 13 may a bit too young. In any case it should be done with a couch well versed in the method.

No: Joint pain is not normal.  Stiffness when you are starting a new or different exercise program is normal.  The difference is important.  A general rule for exercise is that you should not have any pain in the joints that lasts more than 30 minutes after you stop.  You should discuss the right exercise program for you with your doctor.

i had a lap appendectomy almost two months ago and when i do my plyometrics, i feel like my intestines are going to like spill out. is this normal?

Bloating: Laprascopic incisions are small, however they can develop into a hernia. However the sensation of intestines spilling out is very serious and potentially lethal is true. Cough and hold your hand over one of the small incisions, if you feel a bulge that goes away after the cough, then go in to see your surgeon. Be well.

Be seen: You may want to be seen to rule out a cardiac source; but fairly common causes can be from dehydration or hypoglycemia.

Home remedies: You can gargle w aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey ; a small amt of lemon juice helps. For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician ; get a strep throat test ; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for strep throat.

TRX : Trx is one of the most universal highly effective pieces of training equipment you can buy period. Can virtually be used anywhere and if you think body weight exercises can't be effective i'd have to say give trx a try.  I use it when i'm traveling. In terms of cost, $180 on ebay.  If that's too much then check out laird hamiltons fitness programs... Can do everything w/out weights and b effective.
