Chronic pelvic pain for 4+years after vasectomy.urologist no help.pain seems to be coming from the vas but above the spot that was snipped. does it make sense that pain would be coming from above? would have assumed it would be at or below the snip?

Though your pain began after a surgery, chronic pain can occur in the absence of any tissue injury, or after the wound has healed. There are other factors at play that can drive chronic pain. You need to consult with a doctor with training in Chronic pelvic pain as your next step. A combination of pharmaceutical & mind-body therapies may be needed. Good luck.

A very small minority of pts. develop these kind of symptoms and there are many theories why. Your assumption is incorrect. The nerves giving the sensation of pain are above the site of surgery. Sometimes giving local cortisone and anesthetic med. injections help. If not nerve stripping of the cord can be tried. Suggest try an academic med. center. Good luck
