I was dx with epididymitis and bph . the ultrasound showed varicocele, and small chronic left hydrocele. two urinalysis with rfx culture were both negative. is my epididymitis caused by an sti? im confused?

Testicular pain ?'s: Varicoceles may be caused by inflammation (epididymitis , for example), and testicular pain can result. A defect in blood vessel valves can cause such swelling without having an accompanied epididymitis. A hydrocele is simply fluid surrounding the testicle. Current STI's w/o positive cultures or other indicators makes current varicocoele cause not from a current STI.

No: Epididymitis is a painful condition mostly. Unless you had other symptoms it is not from STD. Get checked by a urologist
