Infection?: Are the wisdom teeth still present? If so, it could be the teeth erupting. At age 41, it is unlikely. There is a space between the last tooth and gum, it is easy to get food and bacteria in there and cause a minor infection. You need to have it checked out.

Impact teeth: You either have an impact wisdom teeth that causes inflammation and tried to drain, or in the case of the wisdom teeth missing or already extracted, you may have an odontogenous cyst that is growing and draining. Consult with your dentist for removal of the cyst and follow up to prevent recurrence.
