Need psych eval: Please get a psych eval, plenty of rest, eat a healthy diet and sign up for psychotherapy. Also get a physical exam to make sure your overall health is good, get plenty of exercise, tend to your spituality and get spiritually centered. Consider yoga, acupuncture, and collect a group of supportive people around you that you can get support from and support in return. Utilize pastoral counseling if so inclined.

Mindfulness: There may not be a quick way but there is an effective method called mindfulness which is a meditation technique. There are books and therapists who teach it. Briefly, it involves focusing on your breathing and letting thoughts enter and flow out of consciousness. Treating thoughts as if they are leaves floating down a stream, first entering awareness and then letting them go.
