Possibly: It could just be gum inflammation. It needs to be check out regardless-- cause? Such as open contact point, broken filling, decay, etc. Even if you get the food out and it feels better, see your dentist.

It might be: At a minimum it is irritated and inflamed. There may still be something stuck in there. If does not resolve in a day or so, please see your dentist.
