Time and .......: It's best to see a dentist with extensive experience and training treating patients with tmd\tmjoint problems. We can't give you a definitive diagnosis or accurate answer over the internet. Some dentists have more training and knowledge than others in this area. Having said that- soft diet, nsaids, hot wet compresses and time may improve or resolve the problem. If not, seek further care.

TMJ treatment: Tmj pain is common after whiplash injuries due to, the inflammation around the joint and the disc. Find a dentist who is trained and has experience in treating this kind of injury. Meanwhile ibuprophen for pain and inflammation, and very soft diet. Prosthodontist, some oral surgeons, and some general dentists can treat TMJ problems.
