Jaw locking: You definitely want to talk to your dentist about your jaw locking during dental treatment and other times. They can evaluate this problem. During dental treatment a bite block can be used to help you keep open but not hurting your jaw.

Dentist and Jaw: That brief experience of jaw locking was enough to make you a bit phobic of going to the dentist again. Please do tell the dentist about your concern and he/she will take measures to help you. Peace and good health.

Closed lock: Closed lock occurs when the articular disc in the jaw joint slips out of position. By all means talk with your Physician about your problem, but it's your Dentist who needs to be informed. Your Dentist can then do those procedures necessary to prevent recurrence during any future procedures.
