My daughter grinds her really badly. our dentist has made a sleep plate, which has given minimal relief. our gp has prescribed trepaline but still no relief. jaw muscles are so tight you cant touch them and her headaches are severe! ?

Bruxism: Bruxism, or grinding, can have many causes. It will ultimately result in premature wear and aging of the teeth and possibly jaw joint problems. If occlusal guard and anti-depressants have proven to be ineffective, I would suggest that your daughter see a specialist Orthodontist to have her occlusion evaluated and a n expert in management of Pro-Facial Pain. Bite guard may need adjustment.
