Low chance : Nerve damage is low depending on the amount of surgery. Your podiatrist will be able to discuss with you. Overall most patients who are suffering for years feel a benefit from the surgery. If your toe problem is from high heel shoes and you continue to wear them after surgery then the pain will most likely return.

Rare: The changes of nerve damage is very very low. Although it can happen, just like i can get hit by a bus today, it's unlikely to. You can be more assured by looking up your surgeon's credential's and making sure they had good training or have had several satisfied patients. Where are you located? I can refer you to some excellent surgeon's in your area. Best of luck!

Nerve Damage: In surgery is always possible but chances are very low that this would occur.

Nerve: The nerve damage of which you speak are the larger nerves in the surgical area. Any surgery can result in nerve damage, but by the same token all of us , as surgeons, know where these nerves are located. We take great care to make sure we do not injure them so you do not have nerve damage. The tiny skin nerves regenerate and or reconnect and there is no problem there.
